Did you know Amazon Prime Video acquired Deepika Padukone-Siddhant Chaturvedi’s Gehraiyaan for Rs 100 cr?

Gehraiyaan has been one of the huge projects of Deepika Padukone. The relationship drama, which also features Siddhant Chaturvedi, Ananya Panday and Dhairya Karwa in lead roles, has been the talk of the tinsel town since it was announced last year. The Shakun Batra directorial recently had a direct-to-OTT release on Amazon Prime Video and reportedly has been sold to the digital giant for around Rs. 100 crores.

The highly-awaited film gathered 7 Lakh views in its first 24 hours of release. The makers made Gehraiyaan under the budget of Rs. 70 crores, which includes Deepika's Rs. 20 crore salary as well. 

According to Bollymoviesreviews.com, the drama film, which was sold to Amazon Prime Video for Rs 100 crore, provided a table profit of Rs. 30 Crores to Dharma Productions.

Meanwhile, the stars of Gehraiyaan has been seen in quite a poetic mood since its release. Deepika shared a beautiful kiss with her Husband in Ranveer Singh's latest post. The caption reads, "Doobey…haan doobey… Ek dooje mein yahaan…Tour de force Transcendent, superlative and sublime! What an absolute masterclass of a performance, baby! Such fine, nuanced and heartfelt artistry! … at your consummate and peerless best in this one! You make me so proud! (sic)."

Siddhant also penned down a beautiful note on Twitter about his character named Zain in the film. The latest tweet reads, "This is a special movie that gave me a chance to live this messy but beautiful life of Zain. Oscillating between good and bad, right and wrong, choices and their consequences, Zain was the character that stood strong and did what he thought was right. (sic)."

Gehraiyaan is based on a tale of relationships that goes through love, infidelity and a lot. It also features Naseeruddin Shah and Rajat Kapoor in supporting roles.
