Did you know Billy Ray Cyrus' dog was the matchmaker for him and his wife Firerose?

A relationship becomes more special when its beginning is cemented by a family pet. In a heartwarming conversation on the Kelly Clarkson show, country singer Billy Ray Cyrus and his wife Firerose reveal the "divine" reason they met and credit the introduction to Cyrus' furry friend Tex.

A true matchmaker

The newly-wed couple graced the Kelly Clarkson couch on Thursday and spilled beans on their first meeting nearly 14 years ago and many special events that followed them later.

During a candid conversation, Clarkson asked the couple their backstory about meeting through the family dog. "I heard that a dog introduced y'all, can I meet the dog? Maybe it can help me," jokingly asked the 41-year-old TV show host.

Firerose described her meeting with Cyrus as a divine purpose initiated by the adorable German Shepherd. Recalling the chance encounter, the Australian singer said, "It is actually a funny story because I was walking out of an audition on the Sunset Gala in Hollywood and Billy's dog at the time, Tex, who was the most beautiful German shepherd you have ever seen — he was tapped into some divine purpose. We, at the time, were just friends, and all these years later... we just got married."

The couple tied the knot on October 10 and took to their Instagram to jointly announce the celebration of becoming the officially married couple.

The perfect meet-cute

Remembering his meet-cute moment with Firerose on the Disney set of Hannah Montana, the 62-year-old Achy Breaky Heart told People, "There's a couple old pine trees on the lot that look like Tennessee. [My dog] Tex and I would go out there in the middle of the day and he'd take care of his business and we'd stretch and I'd think how much I missed Tennessee. On that given day, Firerose came out of the front door. There was almost a moment of, I don't know, recognition. I was like, 'This girl's a star."

Billy Ray Cyrus was previously married to Tish Cyrus before calling it quits after 28 years in April last year. They share four children together, including Pop singer Miley Cyrus.
