The upcoming psychological thriller Gaslight, which stars Sara Ali Khan, Vikrant Massey, Chitrangda Singh, Akshay Oberoi, and Rahul Dev, was shot over the course of 36 days.
We couldn't agree more that thrillers are the director Pavan Kirpalani's preferred genre. The talented director has shot several of his movies in a short amount of time and has never failed to keep us interested and hooked. It would surprise audiences to learn that his upcoming movie, Gaslight, was filmed in just 36 days! Filming for this timeless mystery took place at Gujarat's Wankaner Palace.
Talking about this, the director said: “I have shot ‘Gaslight’ in 36 days and it’s safe to say I can shoot a film within controlled budgets and tight schedules. With limited locations and detailed prepping, it is easier to shoot.”
Pavan Kirpalani further mentioned: “I spent a month doing workshops with Sara Ali Khan, Vikrant Massey and Chitrangda Singh for the film and they did a great job. They made everything look so effortless and helped create that sense of mystery which our shots required.”
Meanwhile, going with the trailer, the film's story revolves around Sara Ali Khan, who plays Meesha, a young woman who visits her family house but soon discovers something is amiss when her father goes missing. Meesha is unable to walk and requires a wheelchair, so when she returns home, even after a few days, her father is nowhere to be found.
Gaslight makes the implication that either Meesha is the victim of pranks or that there is a nefarious event going on that only she can see. Together with Akshay Oberoi, Shishir Sharma, and Rahul Dev, Vikrant Massey plays her father's right-hand man Kapil in the psychological thriller.
Produced by Ramesh Taurani, Tips Films Ltd. and Akshai Puri and 12th Street Entertainment, watch Sara Ali Khan, Vikrant Massey and Chitrangda Singh in this much-awaited psychological thriller Gaslight on March 31, only on Disney+ Hotstar.
