Although we have numerous remarkable musicians in today's generation like Arijit Singh, Mohit Chauhan, Armaan Malik, Vishal Dadlani, and Sheykhar Ravjiani, ‘90s singers are still capable of capturing our hearts with their melodious voices, and one of them is definitely Shaan. Debuted in 1989, Shaan has sung over 300 songs, and also won prestigious accolades throughout the decades.

Shaan lost the chance to sing 'Munni Badnam Hui'

But did you know Shaan lost the big chance to sing for Malaika Arora’s ‘Munni Badnaam Hui’? The song serves as an item number for Salman Khan's blockbuster Dabangg (2010). More than 2 decades have passed, and ‘Munni Badnam Hui' is still capable of creating enough entertainment for today's generation. Recently in an exclusive chat with Pinkvilla, Shaan shared that he recorded the song, and went to the US for some other work. But later he got a call from composer Lalit Pandit that some lines were changed so he had to re-record the song. But as he was in the US, he lost the chance to Aishwarya Nigam. But this did not make Shaan upset. Rather he is happy with whatever other opportunities he has got later in life.

Shaan did odd jobs before his debut

However, Shaan did not have a lucky and sorted life before his debut. Did you know he has done some odd jobs like salesman, selling clothes in a boutique, and many more? Yes, that's what we learnt from the singer himself. The music maestro went down memory lane, and talked about when he gave tuition to students, he had to sell cable points, write a book on computers, and so many other odd things, that he can't even remember now. Truly it's amazing to know how much celebrities have to struggle to achieve this goal. It's not a dreamy life for everyone.

Shaan further shared that even singing began as an odd job for him. Because at that point, he only had one thought in his mind, and that was to earn money anyhow. The 51-year-old singer revealed that he used to get offers to sing jingles, and they used to pay him some good amount.

When he realised that people were enjoying his singing, that moment he decided to make this his final career. Shaan spilled the beans that he never learned music from anyone. Offers kept coming, and he kept singing, and now one thing after another, he has come to this position in Bollywood. Truly, what an inspiring story, isn't it?
