Did you know? Tabu and Katrina Kaif once touched ‘Bandaa’ actor Manoj Bajpayee’s feet, here’s why

The fact that Manoj Bajpayee is a fantastic actor is not hidden from anyone. The Sirf Ek Bandaa Kaafi Hai actor is regarded and treated with utmost respect both by his fans as well as his peers in the industry. On his recent appearance on a TV show, the actor revealed that a couple of actors who have worked with him earlier ended up touching his feet and left him embarrassed.

Manoj Bajpayee was speaking on Rajat Sharma’s popular talk show Aapki Adalat and reminisced about the time when Tabu and Katrina Kaif touched his feet on two different occasions. The actor revealed that back in 1998, soon after the release of his film Satya, Tabu visited him on the sets after watching the film. “In front of everyone, she touched my feet. It was her way to appreciate me,” the actor shared and added that he felt a “little embarrassed” at the fact that such a beautiful actress was touching his feet and it made him feel “too old”.

Bajpayee also talked about the 2010 incident with his Rajneeti co-star Katrina Kaif, at the premiere of the Prakash Jha directorial. The Bandaa actor was called to strike a pose with the entire cast of the film for a photo. That’s when Katrina suddenly walked towards him and touched his feet in front of the entire media and everyone present at the occasion. She also told him, “Aap superb actor hain (You are a superb actor)”. While sharing the above incident on the TV show, Bajpayee said, “Katrina ne toh mitti paleed kar di (Katrina really embarrassed me a lot).”

Even though Bajpayee and Katrina worked in Rajneeti together, the two didn’t really have any scenes with each other. So Katrina got overwhelmed since even though she was there on the sets during the shoot, she never really realised how brilliant Bajpayee’s performance was in the film.

On the work front, Bajpayee’s latest offering titled Sirf Ek Bandaa Kaafi Hai, based on the Asaram Bapu rape case, has opened to rave reviews from the critics. The film will be available to stream on ZEE5 on May 23, 2023. You can also watch it on OTTplay Premium.
