Didi No. 1 star Rachna Banerjee to contest MP election

It has been reported that Didi No. 1 presenter Rachna Banerjee would contest in the Parliament Election as a TMC candidate. She was supposed to contest from either East Midnapore or from Kanthi.

Mamata Banerjee came to Didi No. 1 a few days back. During that time, Rachna went to Nabanna to meet the CM. Netizens were sure that Rachna would get the ticket. According to reports, Rachna might contest in Subhendu Adhikary’s den.

It remains to see which seat Rachna contests. In the last election, Mimi Chakraborty and Nusrat Jahan were the surprising entries. Now, Rachna’s name is added to the list.

The TMC has some big plans for Rachna. It was initially decided that she would contest from Tamluk. However, the news came that after his resignation, Justice Abhijit Ganguly could be Tamluk’s candidate. Then Rachna’s seat was changed. It is now heard that she might contest Sisir Adikary’s Kanthi seat. Soumendu Adhikary is contesting from the BJP in this seat. Rachna will be the TMC’s star candidate.

Rachna previously said that nothing was final yet and if something happened, CM Mamata Banerjee would say that. She also claimed that she went to Nabanna to invite Mamata to Didi No. 1. It had no connection with contesting in the election. 

Mamata Banerjee came as the special guest to the stage of Didi No. 1. Sourav Ganguly’s wife Dona Ganguly was also present there. Rachna and Mamata had a hearty conversation there.
