Didi No 1: Will Rachna Banerjee continue to host the popular show?

Rachna Banerjee was one of the surprise candidates for TMC and the actress-cum-television anchor won from her constituency, Hooghly. She defeated the erstwhile MP Locket Chatterjee. Will Rachna bid adieu to her popular reality show, Didi No 1? To answer their worry, Rachna talked about the future of the show. 

Rachna offered puja to a local temple in Hooghly on Wednesday morning and then started her journey to Kolkata. She said, “My schedule will be busy. But I will have no problem handling Didi Number 1 and my new role. I will work in both.” Didi No 1 is known to be one of the most popular reality shows on Zee Bangla. The show also streams on Zee5 and one can watch it on OTTplay Premium. 

After her candidacy was declared, Rachna could not give much time to her family. She has plans to make a trip with her son. She said, “I could not give time to my son in the last few months. He told me to give him time after my victory. I will take him on a trip.” 

How did she defeat the erstwhile MP Locket Chatterjee? According to reports, there was displeasure among the local people with Locket since she did not visit her constituency often. She faced the angst when she came to campaign for the panchayat election. There are missing posters in her name in many places. There is also the issue of factionalism in the BJP. Locket announced her name as the candidate in the constituency and it made a part of the workers angry. So, she was a bit on the back foot this time.  But she teased her cine industry colleague Rachna while campaigning. However, Rachna had a winning smile. “Victory is the answer. I have nothing more to say.” Rachna said after defeating Locket.
