Gayatri Rawal: Didn't get into production so I can act in my own projects

Gayatri Rawal, who is the lead face of the Gujarati play Saas Vahu Ni 20-20, decided to go live and talk about the project, which is now streaming on ShemarooMe.

The actress turned producer recently. In fact, she has also bankrolled Saas Vahu Ni 20-20.

Talking about turning a producer, the actress shared, “I started my production house, not so that I could act in those films. I have seen people have a lot of differences of opinion. Thus, I needed a platform where I could not only express myself but even help actors express themselves.”

She added, “Usually an actor has to obey the director, supporting actors and the crew. Thus if that actor wants to convey something a certain way, they need their own platform.”

The actress also revealed that she is planning a few more things after becoming a producer. “I have bigger plans for the future, but let’s see what it holds for me,” she shared.

Talking about Sasu Vahu Ni 20-20, Gayatri added that the concept might be old but the presentation of it is new. The actress called the play an out-and-out entertainer.

In a twist, the bride (vahu) takes the initiative to change her in-laws, which is something other brides can only fantasize about. Saas Vahu Ni 20-20 is a comic play made for the purpose of entertainment more than analyzing.

Apart from Gayatri, the play also features Dilip Darbar, Titiksha Pandya, Mayank Pandya, Saunil Daru and Sachi Joshi.
