The latest Malayalam horror film, Dies Irae, released in theatres on October 31 to add to the spooky Halloween vibes. Pranav Mohanlal won mostly positive reviews for his first horror venture. Dies Irae made Rs 82.09 crore in worldwide collections with Rs 40.86 crore in Malayalam net collections, as per data recorded by industry tracker Sacnilk. This puts Pranav-starrer in the list of the top 5 Malayalam-grossing films of 2025, which is led by Kalyani Priyadarshan’s Lokah Chapter 1 Chandra.
The film opened with Rs 4.7 crore on October 31, and registered its highest collection on Day 3 with Rs 6.35 crore. The earnings dropped below Rs 1 crore after day 10, with
Pranav Mohanlal’s horror movie garnering mixed reviews. Though the film did not hit the coveted Rs 100 crore milestone, trade tracker Sacnilk has termed Die Irae as a ‘blockbuster hit’. The Malayalam film was also released in Telugu, but the earnings were minimal with Rs 0.42 crore. Pranav last starred in Varshangalkku Shesham in 2024 which also earned over Rs 80 crore.
