Just over 10 days ago, Kannada actor Diganth had to be airlifted from Goa to Bengaluru after a trampoline mishap. The immediate reports that emerged painted a grim picture. And it would have been, had he not received timely medical attention. The actor had attempted a somersault while on a trampoline, which went awry and injured his cervical spine in the process. Jumps, flips and somersaults are not new to the actor, who is an avid adventure sports enthusiast. The somersault attempt in Goa had apparently resulted in a pinched nerve, which, if left untreated, could have resulted in the actor being paralyzed.
Since the hospital in Goa was not equipped to handle his care, it was then decided to move him back to Bengaluru, where the actor was not only operated upon immediately, but it also on the road to recovery. Last evening, Diganth posted a video on social media to give his fans and well-wishers an update on his progress, while also thanking everyone, right from the doctors in Goa and Bengaluru, to the Goa government, among others, for ensuring that he got timely help, which is the reason he is back on his feet so soon. Barring a visible scar on his neck, the actor actually looks like he’s as good as before. The actor is hopeful of fully recovering in the next fortnight or so and being back in action.
Diganth, who was last seen onscreen in Kshamisi Nimma Katheyalli Hannavila, along with Aindrita, is gearing up for the release of Gaalipata 2, which reunites him with director Yogaraj Bhat. Diganth, Ganesh and veteran actor Anant Nag are among the few who have been retained from the cast of the original film, Gaalipata. The sequel, which also stars Pawan Kumar, Vaibhavi Shandilya, Samyuktha Menon, Sharmiela Mandre and the late Bullet Prakash, among others, is set to release in theatres on August 12.
