Dil Nahin Todna: Arjun Kapoor, Rakul Preet Singh’s song from Sardar Ka Grandson is sure to make you emotional

Sardar Ka Grandson’s new song Dil Nahi Todna, which released on May 12, portrays the pain a heart-broken couple goes through.

In the music video of the soft melody, Rakul Preet Singh’s character is seen leaving behind her engagement ring and her fiance, played by Arjun Kapoor. Both the characters endure the pain separately and the song captures their poignant moments.

The video also shows glimpses from their past, when Arjun’s character, who plays Neena Gupta’s grandson in the film, goes down on his knees and proposes to Rakul. Towards the end, Arjun is seen abandoning the ring on the table and leaving, hinting that it might actually be the end for the couple.

The duet is rendered by Zara Khan and Tanishk Bagchi, who also composed the song. Tanishk is best remembered for his works like Naach Meri Rani, Makhna, Psycho Saiyaan and Do You Love Me.

Two other tracks from the movie, Main Teri Ho Gayi and Jee Ni Karda, were released earlier. Both tracks revealed the romance between Arjun and Rakul’s characters.

Directed by Kaashvie Nair, Sardar Ka Grandson also stars John Abraham and Aditi Rao Hydari. Neena plays the role of a grandmother who wishes to go to Pakistan to see her ancestral home. Her only condition is that her grandson should take her there. However, he is denied a visa and thereon, his journey to fulfill his grandmother’s wish begins. In a unique twist, he brings Pakistan to Amritsar.

The film is slated to release on Netflix on May 18.
