Dil Pasand is actor Darling Krishna’s latest release. The film, according to director Shivatejass, is an intense love story laced with dollops of comedy. Krishna is paired with not one, but two leading ladies – Nishvika Naidu and Jothe Jotheyalli fame Megha Shetty, who makes her big screen debut with this romantic comedy.

The film opened in theatres today and the reviews so far have been far from positive. The makers had, however, sold the film’s satellite and digital rights prior to the release, and would have recovered a major chunk of the budget already. Dil Pasand has been picked up by Sun Network, so it will come to SunNxt at some point, while the TV outing will be on Udaya TV. Unlike other platforms, which bring films after 30-days of theatrical release, or 48, as the case may be, SunNxt does not follow such a pattern, so it would be difficult to estimate when the film will be made available. For instance, even a hit film like Salaga began streaming close to a year after its theatrical release.

Meanwhile, speaking to OTTplay earlier about Dil Pasand, Krishna had said that it was Shivatejass’ narration of a start-to-finish laugh riot that sealed the deal for him. “Making people laugh or cry are among the most difficult things for an actor and with Dil Pasand, I get to do both,” he had said. Interestingly, one of the films in competition with Dil Pasand at the box office is the horror flick O, which has his wife, Milana Nagaraj, in the lead, along with Amrutha Iyengar.

Krishna has a few other films lined up for release, including Mr Bachelor, Sugar Factory, Love Birds. He is currently working on Kousalya Supraja Rama, with director Shashank Taalya. As for his next directorial, the actor-filmmaker had said that he will begin script work once he completes his current acting commitments, after which he will slow down on picking up new films.
