Malayalam film Voice of Sathyanathan, directed by veteran director Raffi and featuring Dileep in the lead, is cleared by CBFC with an U certificate before its scheduled release on July 14. Its trailer was released on June 23 and promised glimpses of previous Raffi-Dileep hits such Pandippada. The trailer and teaser released hint at a political drama with doses of comedy.

The film also features actors including Anupam Kher, Jagapathi Babu, Joju George, Makarand Deshpande in significant roles. Anupam Kher is making a comeback to Malayalam films after Pranayam, Kalimannu and Nayana. Kettyolaanu Ente Malakha fame Veena Nandakumar plays the female lead.

Raffi and Dileep had previously joined hands in the movie Ringmaster, which had a decent run at the box office despite being criticalpy panned. Pandippada, Punjabi House and Thenkasipattanam were some of the hits co-directed by Raffi that had Dileep in the lead.

The Ramaleela actor is currently facing a setback at the box office after his movies like Jack Daniel failed. His 2021 direct OTT release Keshu Ee Veedinte Nadhan also didn’t garner good reviews.

Voice of Sathyanathan marks his first theatrical release since the pandemic. Its technical department consists cinematographer Jithin Stanislaus, editor Shameer Muhammed and composer Justin Varghese.

The release of the movie was initially scheduled on July 4, which was the release date of previous blockbusters of Dileep like Ee Parakkum Thalika, CID Moosa and Meesamadhavan. With the release of Kunchako Boban’s Padmini pushed due to heavy rains in Kerala, there is a chance of it clashing in theatres with Voice of Sathyanathan and Valatty on July 14. Dileep’s upcoming projects include Bandra, directed by Arun Gopy and written by Udaykrishna.
