Director Ali Abbas Zafar had this actor in mind before casting Shahid Kapoor for his thriller

Ali Abbas Zafar is presently occupied with his upcoming thriller flick starring Shahid Kapoor as the main lead. According to a Bollywood Hungama report, the director initially wanted to cast the Main Tera Hero star Varun Dhawan as the male lead instead.

Initially, Ali Abbas Zafar wanted to work on an out-of-the-world superhero project with the ABCD 2 star for which the actor wasn’t much enthused to work. Following this, the Sultan director approached the star with the remake project of the French thriller, Nuit Blanche. Although he was excited to take it up, he didn’t have the dates to accommodate for the upcoming project as the director wanted to take off the movie this year. Eventually, the gauntlet was passed over to the Kaminey star, Shahid Kapoor.

Shahid Kapoor is at the peak of his career after the commercial success of his last two ventures Padmaavat and Kabir Singh. The actor understood the exceptional take of the director on making the official remake of Nuit Blanche before taking up the project of Ali Abbas Zafar. Incidents of the movie are touted to take place in a single night, which excited the star and he immediately gave the nod to work with the Tiger Zinda Hai director.

Talking about the official remake of Nuit Blanche, it is touted to be an edge-of-the-seat thriller, which is also expected to have an unparalleled touch in that particular genre. Prep for it is currently going on in full swing and is expected to go on floors from November.
