Sinha is popular for his hard-hitting movies like Article 15 starring Ayushmann Khurrana and Thappad starring Taapsee Pannu and Pavail Gulati
Bollywood director Anubhav Sinha is all set to shoot his next venture in Lucknow, probably by the end of this year. He is well known for dealing with hard-hitting subjects, through his movies like Article 15 and Thappad. His award-winning film Mulk has also set a standard in the industry.
Though much details are yet to be revealed, Sinha hinted to Hindustan Times that he will be shooting during November and December. Talking about the subject, the director stated that his film will do the talking. He didn’t disclose the title or the cast of his new project.
Thappad director further said that he is making films on stories on issues like casteism, patriarchy and secularism that exist in our society. He also revealed that he broke his pattern of favouring slow-motion shots or love songs at foreign locations and instead, he enjoys his current straight-to-heart works.
To the question that if the pandemic was the reason for a North-East shift, Sinha said that he couldn’t shoot it anywhere else since the film is set there. He has done four films already in Lucknow, out of which, one is the story of Noida and the other of Varanasi. Yet he yearns to go back again to the place as the support he receives from there is immense. The compatability with the local team and the love from them make the work easier and he feels it's like shooting on an 'auto-pilot mode'.
Sinha also mentioned about his unreleased film Abhi, which was shot in 2018. The director, who is a big screen fan, is waiting for the theatres to open, and to collect the audience back. He also added that he intends to make changes in his unreleased films. The films will be released one after the another, once the pandemic situation is resolved.
