Dinesh Tej, Hebah Patel and Payal Radhakrishna are joining hands for a love triangle - Ala Ninnu Cheri. The feel-good romance, produced by Kommalapati Sridhar of Vision Movie Makers, is directed by Maresh Shivan. The film has music by Subhash Anand with lyrics by Chandrabose. Ahead of its release on November 10, the director throws light on the film, its major highlights and the inspiration behind the story.

Ala Ninnu Cheri - the story

I’d begun writing the story in 2012. The film unfolds in the same time too, it’s a story everyone experiences in their lives. Ala Ninnu Cheri highlights the conflict between love and career. It has a small message and I’m confident the film will trigger change among a few viewers. The film will strike a chord with viewers of all age groups and haunt them even after the viewing.

The target audience, a word about the cast

Ala Ninnu Cheri can be watched by family crowds. It earned a U/A certificate from the censors. The producer liked the story immediately after the narration and trusted me fully with the execution. I’ve known Dinesh since Hushaaru, he’s a good friend. I narrated this story to producer Bekkem Venugopal and it ultimately reached Dinesh. He and Payal are promising actors. The film has many senior hands as well.

Major highlights of the film

The story is driven by love, emotions. How does the protagonist chase his goals and succeed in love? The music is a major highlight- both the songs and the background score by Subhash Anand will impress music buffs. Trinadha Rao Nakkina (Dhamaka director) said it wasn’t right to call this a small film, predicted it would be a hit after a screening. Bekkem Venugopal, Bellamkonda Suresh hailed it too.

Why film direction?

I used to write stories since childhood. I prefer to stay close to reality in my stories. I worked with Anand Sai previously and on a few Pawan Kalyan films as an assistant art director as well. However, I always had a dream to direct one day. Ala Ninnu Cheri took off after many difficulties. The film will release in 200 screens. We plan to increase the count based on the feedback after release.
