Not much progress has been made on the Telugu remake of Mohanlal's Lucifer, starring Chiranjeevi, ever since it was launched in late 2020. Beyond the lead actor, the casting in the film bankrolled by RB Chowdary and NV Prasad hasn't been finalised yet. Finally, there's some reason for the star's fans to smile. The film's composer S Thaman and director Mohanraja have commenced work on the music score and songs earlier today.
The Malayalam version of the action-packed political drama had only a few numbers in its album, but the numbers for the Telugu remake is expected to be massier and grander in terms of conceptualisation. S Thaman is best known for his high-voltage background scores and energetic tracks and the fans can certainly hope for the best from the composer for this prestigious project.
Mani Sharma was initially roped in as the composer for the remake but replaced by Thaman later. Speaking about the story, the film's writer Lakshmi Bhupala had told OTTplay, "But for the essence of the story, audiences will feel like they're watching a new film. There won't be much scope for comparison and it'll be 10-times more entertaining and engaging."
The Malayalam, Tamil and Telugu-dubbed versions of Lucifer are streaming on Amazon Prime Video.
