The film has Selvaraghavan and Natty Nataraj playing the leads

The title look of director Mohan's Bakasuran was revealed today. Mohan shared the same on his social media page and said that the shoot for the film is on. The title look has a glimpse of a scene from Mahabharata. Mohan captioned the look as, "#Title look.. Shooting in progress now.. In Theaters 2022.. @selvaraghavan @natty_nataraj @SamCSmusic @ProBhuvan @Gmfilmcorporat1 (sic)." Interestingly, Bakasura is a rakshasha in the Hindu mythological epic Mahabharata, who is eventually killed by Bhima, one of the Pandava brothers. The film has music by Sam CS.
This is the first time that Mohan is teaming up with Selvaragaghavan and Natty in the film. Earlier, the reports were that the shoot was on in Muthumalai Murugan temple in Salem, though there was no official confirmation of the same. Mohan is known for the controversial films Draupadi and Rudra Thandavam, both starring Richard Rishi.
While Selvaraghavan is basking in the success of his recent outing Saani Kaayidham, he also his directorial venture, Naane Varuven in his kitty. The film has Dhanush in the lead and the shoot for the same has been wrapped up and postp-production is on in full swing. The coming together of the brother duo has raised the expectations among the audience. Dhanush will be seen in a dual character in the film. The film has Indhuja Ravichandran and Elli AvrRam as the leading ladies.
Apart from directing Dhanush after 11 years, Selvaraghavan will also be playing a crucial role in the film. "It's a collaborative effort,"said Selvaraghavan while speaking to OTTplay earlier. Naane Varuven has music by Yuvan Shankar Raja and cinematography by Om Prakash. The film is bankrolled by Kalaipuli S Thanu.
In the meantime, Selvaraghavan is currently basking in the success of his recent release Saani Kaayidham. Calling the film a dream come true opportunity, Selvaraghavan told OTTplay, "Getting to work in a film like this itself is a dream. I think films like this should be enjoyed by the audience and they deserve to win."
