Right from Run to Awaara and Pandem Kodi, many Telugu dubbed films of N Lingusamy have been runaway successes here but the filmmaker took nearly two decades to make his straight Telugu debut. The Warriorr is an action entertainer headlined by Ram Pothineni, Krithi Shetty and Aadhi Pinisetty, set to release on July 14. The film’s pre-release event was held in Hyderabad on Sunday.
“Right from the day I narrated the script to its making, Ram Pothineni has been a source of great support in every way possible. He has great screen-timing. I may sound greedy now, but if everything goes well, I want to work on 10 films with him. I am really proud of how Krithi Shetty has evolved as an actress - everyone around me have been raving about her dances in the film,” he said.
The producer Srinivasaa Chitturi has given me everything that I’ve asked for without any compromises, Lingusamy shared. “They entered the industry during the release of Run. The banner and I have survived all these years.” The filmmaker stated that the cinematographer Sujith Vassudev truly helped him visualise the film exactly the way he intended.
“The editor Navin Nooli has done an impressive job,” he mentioned. “I have been planning my Telugu debut for long. You all have watched my earlier films, Run, Awaara and Pandem Kodi. I may have had many plans for my Telugu film before but The Warrior is a perfect entry for me in the industry. I hope you like the film on July 14,” Lingusamy signed off.
Nadhiya Moidu, Akshara Gowda and others too play important roles in The Warriorr, presented by Pavan Kumar. The film is also the first straight Tamil release for Ram Pothineni and Krithi Shetty. Lingusamy’s last release as a director was Sandakozhi 2 a.k.a Pandem Kodi 2 featuring Vishal and Keerthy Suresh. Two of his popular films Aanandham and Vettai were also remade into Telugu earlier.
