Pavan Sadineni is one of the rare filmmakers in Telugu cinema with a pitch-perfect understanding of the digital medium, human drama and the evolving tastes of audiences. While he was in the news for his OTT show Dayaa this year and even won an OTTplay award for his pathbreaking efforts, Pavan completes a decade in the film industry with the 10th release anniversary of Prema Ishq Kaadhal today.
Prema Ishq Kaadhal, starring Harshavardhan Rane, Sree Vishnu, Ritu Varma, Vithika Sheru and others was a breath of fresh air with its portrayal of love through the eyes of three youngsters, striking a fine balance between humour, cinematic appeal and realism. While the film fetched Pavan a good start in the film industry, it was audience in the digital medium who recognised his worth as a storyteller.
The filmmaker went onto direct Senapathi, Savitri later besides web shows like PillA, Ee Office Lo, Commitmental and Dayaa recently. Expressing his happiness on completing a decade of storytelling, Pavan in a social media post shared, “What feels more special is I never gave up even a second in these 10 years and have been working hard to bring the stories through my vision to entertain everyone.”
The director added how he has a seen a cycle of emotions - success, failure, difficulties, pain, happiness - over the years and has learnt to ignore negativity and perform work with honesty. “Prema Ishq Kaadhal taught me discipline and gave memories of a life time.” Many reportedly told him that the film was ahead of its time “I still enjoy the appreciation and love everyone send me for this baby of mine.”
He states with an element of pride that many actors and technicians who debuted with Prema Ishq Kaadhal are in top form, with Shravan Bharadwaj’s ‘beautiful album’ continuing to have admirers even today. He thanked producers Bekkem Venugopal, Suresh Babu, Madhura Sreedhar for believing in him. He promised to keep entertaining audiences in the future and deliver them nothing but the best.
