Experiments, thy name is director Prasanth Varma. Very rarely have young filmmakers like him stuck to their gut instinct and made films they truly believe in, without chasing numbers or stars. From Awe to Kalki to Zombie Reddy and now Hanu-Man, the director has hopped on from one genre to the other with the effortlessness of a veteran. His next release, Hanu-Man, the first-ever Telugu superhero film, is nearing completion.
The final schedule of the superhero film had commenced in Hyderabad on Monday and given the scale of the project, the team has been focused in its attempt to finish it a brisk pace. A set of crucial scenes featuring its pivotal characters are being shot in the city. Hanu-Man has been shot across several locations in the length and breadth of the country and the makers are leaving no stone unturned to mount it on a massive scale.
Teja Sajja and Amritha Aiyer essay the lead roles in this film, which is bankrolled by K Niranjan Reddy under Prime Show Entertainment. Chaitanya is is its presenter. Dasaradhi Shivendra is cinematographer of the project which has as many as four composers - Anudeep Dev, Hari Gowra, Jay Krish and Krishna Saurabh. The film will simultaneously release in Telugu, Tamil, Kannada, Malayalam and Hindi languages.
In an earlier interview, Prasanth Varma has mentioned that Hanu-Man, based on Hanuman's character from Ramayana, will discuss the challenges of a common man who's suddenly gifted with several superpowers. Reportedly, the larger-than-life characterisation of Hanuman prompted the filmmaker to reimagine it as a superhero film.
