Ashoka Vanamlo Arjuna Kalyanam (AVAK), starring Vishwak Sen, Rukshar Dhillon in the lead, is written by Ravi Kiran Kola and directed by Vidya Sagar Chinta. The writer and the director have earlier collaborated for a rural entertainer, Raja Vaaru Rani Gaaru (where Ravi Kiran was the director and Vidya Sagar was the cinematographer). Vidya Sagar, prior to his directorial debut with this outing, has also worked as a cinematographer for films like Adbhutam, Rajdoot, Falaknuma Das and two web shows, Muddapappu Avakai and Nanna Koochi.
In an interaction with the media about AVAK, which hits theatres this week, he said, "I need to give full credit to my writer Ravi Kiran Kola, he's been the backbone of our film. He's come up with great dialogues, has conceived his scenes so well and it made my job easy on set. Ashoka Vanamlo Arjuna Kalyanam will feel like a wholesome meal and it would've been possible only with the efforts of the entire cast and crew. Pavi K Pavan's visuals have turned out so well and so has the background score of composer Jay Krish."
Talking about his lead actors and the crew, Vidya Sagar added, "Vishwak Sen and Rukshar Dhillon are to impress audiences with their performances. Viplav, the editor, has done his job to perfection. The production designer Pravalya Duddupudi has created sets that completely transported us into a village ambience, her work speaks for itself. We will definitely entertain you at the theatres on May 6; Ashoka Vanamlo Arjuna Kalyanam is a meal that'll satiate your hunger to the fullest."
Produced by Sudheer Edara and B Bapineedu under SVCC Digital, AVAK releases in theatres on May 6. SVCC Digital's last release was Bhamakalapam for aha and incidentally the same OTT platform has snapped up AVAK's post-theatrical streaming rights too.
