Nora Fatehi added another feather to her cap when she turned a director for the music video to her new song Dirty Little Secret. The actress-singer recently opened up about the experience of being behind the camera as a director.

In conversation with Mid Day, Fatehi spoke of how there was a lot of ‘pre planning’ to be done even before they had begun filming. The singer spoke of how there were a lot of things she had to take care of, including making sure that the dancers were in sync and the lighting was alright. Speaking of how ‘physically exhausting’ the entire process was, Fatehi revealed that the last day of shoot was especially hard since they had filmed for almost 20 hours. But despite the hardships, Fatehi was able to see her efforts ‘come alive’ during the editing process.

Fatehi also believes that her experience as an artiste too helped her in the process of directing. In addition to directing, she also starred in the video and had sung the track as well, along with Zack Knight. Fatehi said that she was able to judge correctly when the set up was correct or how to frame the right shot and as a director, she was able to recognise when all the shots came together well. She said that there was a lot going on in her mind as a creative person, and she wanted all those ideas to ‘come alive’. “It’s tough to be behind the camera and in front of it, but it gives a sense of satisfaction when you see the end result”, she said.

Opening up on the artists that inspire her, Fatehi called Lady Gaga, Rihanna and Beyoncé her idols. Calling the trio ‘global icons’, she said that she was inspired by how versatile they were.
