As per a report, Dishoom 2 is on the cards, and John Abraham, Varun Dhawan, and Akshay Kumar are likely to unite for the sequel.

Several film sequels have been appearing in headlines, such as No Entry 2, Mujhse Shaadi Karogi, and more. Now, a report mentioned that Dishoom 2 was also on the cards. The movie in question is a sequel to Dishoom (2016), and it stars John Abraham and Varun Dhawan. Now, the sequel is reportedly set to cast Akshay Kumar along with Varun and John.
Filmfare reported that the Dishoom sequel has been overdue for many years now. "The team behind the 2016 hit wanted to make this film for a while now but their plan to go bigger and bolder was just not able to materialise. But with Akshay Kumar agreeing to be part of the sequel, things seem to be falling into place," the source added.
Dishoom was produced by Sajid Nadiadwala, and it was directed by Varun Dhawan's brother Rohit Dhawan. The source further said that the team of Rohit, Varun, John, and Akshay has come together to give the audience a promising action film, and Rohit's involvement in the project is not yet confirmed. However, we are expected to hear an official announcement soon.

Akshay Kumar will be seen in Sajid Nadiadwala's Housefull 5. The cast features Abhishek Bachchan, Riteish Deshmukh, Fardeen Khan, Jackie Shroff, Sanjay Dutt, Chunky Pandey, Jacqueline Fernandez, Sonam Bajwa, Nargis Fakhri, and more. The trailer was recently released, and it garnered a lot of attention.
Akshay also has Bhooth Bangla, directed by Priyadarshan. The film also stars Wamiqa Gabbi, Tabu, Paresh Rawal, Sharman Joshi, and Mithila Palkar. It will be released on April 2, 2026.
Varun Dhawan's work front includes the film Sunny Sanskari Ki Tulsi Kumari with Janhvi Kapoor, Border 2 alongside Sunny Deol, Diljit Dosanjh, and Ahan Shetty. He is also involved in Hai Jawani Toh Ishq Hona Hai, a comedy film directed by his father, David Dhawan.
Meanwhile, John Abraham was recently seen in the political thriller, The Diplomat. The film is streaming on Netflix.
