The announcement came on the same day that The Book of Boba Fett, the recent Star Wars franchise series, wrapped up its finale. Obi-Wan is expected to be a mini series of single season, with episodes of six hour-long. Like most of the Disney originals, the series is also expected to drop its new instalments weekly, every Wednesday.
Meanwhile, Obi-Wan is set ten years after the Revenge of the Sith, where Kenobi wounded his apprentice Anakin Skywalker. The trilogy’s end portrayed Anakin turning to his darker side, since his children Luke Skywalker and Princess Leia were hidden from him.
Joel Edgerton and Bonnie Piesse are expected to join McGregor in the show, who were featured in the prequel. The cast will also include Moses Ingram, Kumail Nanjiani, Indira Varma, Rupert Friend, O’Shea Jackson Jr., Sung Kang, Simone Kessell, and Benny Safdie. Also, several cameos from the original trilogy and the prequels are expected to be featured on the show as well.
