Disney’s Encanto release date: When and where to watch animated fantasy film in India

Disney’s latest enchanted venture is all set to bring the magic to Indian theatres. Encanto is all set for its theatrical release in the country this month.

When and where can Encanto be watched?

Encanto will be released in Indian theatres on November 26.

What is Encanto about?

Set in Colombia, Encanto tells the tale of a family called the Madrigals who live in the titular enchanted town in the mountains. Each member in the family possesses magical abilities, except for a young woman named Mirabel.

However the family’s home and their magical powers come under threat of being taken away, and they turn to Mirabel to help. The young woman goes on a quest to save her family from having their abilities taken away, leading to a journey of self discovery as well.

Who are the cast and crew behind Encanto?

Stephanie Beatriz of Brooklyn Nine-Nine fame voices Mirabel.

The rest of the voice cast includes John Leguizamo, María Cecilia Botero, Diane Guerrero, Jessica Darrow, Angie Cepeda and Wilmer Valderrama.

Produced and distributed by Walt Disney Animation Studios, the fantasy film features original songs written by Grammy award winner Lin-Manuel Miranda. Miranda has previously written the songs for Disney’s Moana, one of which was nominated for an Academy Award for best original song.

Encanto is directed by Byron Howard and Jared Bush, popularly known for their work on Disney’s Academy Award winning film Zootopia. Charise Castro Smith serves as co-director.
