DNA on OTT: 5 reasons to watch Nimisha Sajayan and Atharvaa’s thriller

A fresh concept

Filmmaker Nelson Venkatesan who is known for interesting narratives, came up with yet another one with DNA. After making films like Farhana and Monster, his recent flick delves into the underbelly of an organised crime network involving newborns. DNA introduces the audience to this world of crime, while also dabbling with the concept of what is right and wrong.

Nimisha Sajayan’s yet another realistic acting

Nimisha Sajayan who is no new face to brilliant acting, plays Divya in DNA. Her character is diagnosed with borderline personality disorder, and the actor aces it with ease. The film centres around Divya, as a woman who is ostracised by her own family for her condition, and a new mother who is the only one to strongly detect that something is wrong with her baby. Nimisha Sajayan brings the character to life.

Nelson Venkatesan’s intriguing screenplay

Nelson Venkatesan crafts an intense and intriguing screenplay with DNA, which takes its time to unravel the mystery. While it introduces us to couple Anand and Divya played by Atharvaa and Nimisha Sajayan respectively, it also has several interesting pockets to explore. Beginning it a prologue that has a connection during the climax, and screenplay that explores the network to bits, Nelson’s writing is one of the strong suits of DNA.

Emotion-charged climax

DNA’s climax is set in a temple, and forms the crux. The emotionally-charged sequence reveals if the mother reunites with her biological child. Nelson Venkatesan reserves the high moments of the film towards the end, as we see nearly all main characters come to a point.

Atharvaa packs a commercial punch

Atharvaa who had been missing out on action for a while, makes a solid comeback with DNA. The film gives him all scope to be in his commercial avatar, by giving room for performance, action, emotions, and dance.
