DNA release date: Atharvaa Murali and Nimisha Sajayan’s new film gears up to hit theatres

We had earlier reported that actors Atharvaa Murali and Nimisha Sajayan will be playing lead roles in the upcoming Tamil film DNA. The makers on Thursday revealed the release date of the film. It is set to release on June 20 in theatres. DNA will clash at the box office with Dhanush-starrer Kuberaa, directed by Sekhar Kammula.

A new Tamil film is set to release in June. Titled DNA, the film will release on June 20, according to the latest update by the makers. DNA is written and directed by filmmaker Nelson Venkatesan, who has earlier made films like Farhana and Monster. The film is backed by Jayanthi Ambethkumar, who also produced the 2023 hit film Dada. It marks the first time Nimisha Sajayan will be collaborating with the Nirangal Moondru and Trigger star onscreen.

The technical crew of DNA includes cinematographer Parthiban and VJ Sabu Joseph handling the edits. Actor Ramesh Thilak, who was recently seen in Tourist Family, will also be playing an important role in the film. While the makers have not yet announced the plot of the film, it is expected that the trailer to be released soon will give a fair idea about what DNA is.

Nelson Venkatesan’s last film was the 2023 Tamil thriller drama and stars Aishwarya Rajesh in the titular role alongside Selvaraghavan. The film revolves around a married Muslim woman who works in a call centre, only to begin talking to a stranger and getting acquainted. However, a series of events lead to Farhana playing a cat and mouse game with the stranger. Farhana is available for streaming on SonyLIV and OTTplay Premium.
