While the year was being marked by big-budget actioners, of which some flew high in the sky (Fighter), some were action comedies with a huge ensemble (Bade Miyan Chote Miyan), and even sports dramas (Maidaan), we all needed a film that was simple and yet heartwarming. Trust Vidya Balan to give us a banger of a movie with a team that is equally skilled. The theaters are right now witnessing the return of the Rom-Com version of Balan that had been missing for the longest time, and alongside her is the splendid Pratik Gandhi who is on a roll showcasing his range as an actor.
The movie, on the first two days at the box office, didn't see any significant business happening, but it has now seen an upward trajectory that has led to it earning a number equal to the collection of the first two days on day 3. Read on to know everything you should about this.
Do Aur Do Pyaar, which was released on April 19, has now witnessed its first weekend at the box office. The movie, which is not one that is mounted on a massive budget, had somewhat of a very slow start on day one as it managed to bring in a very small number. Followed by day 2, the total stood at Rs 1.50 crore net at the Indian box office. However, on Sunday, which was the third day of release, the Vidya Balan starrer found some redemption and finally entered a collection of crores.
On Day 3, the Pratik Gandhi-led film earned close to an equal amount it earned in the first two days. The collection of day 3, as per Sacnilk, stands at Rs 1.15 crore. This means the total box office collection of Do Aur Do Pyaar in India at the moment is Rs 2.65 crore net. The theaters showed 14.97% Hindi occupancy on day 3, which was a Sunday. The movie will have to grow more, and it is definitely a film that needs and deserves better word of mouth.
The real test for the film begins today, whether it manages to hold the little momentum it has now caught on the weekdays or goes back to what it earned in the first two. The competition for Do Aur Do Pyaar is Love Sex Aur Dhokha 2, which is also struggling to make ends meet.
The movie stars Vidya Balan, Pratik Gandhi, Sendhil Ramamurthy, and Ileana D'Cruz in pivotal parts. It is a story about a couple that is slowly falling out of love and their marriage is nothing but a setup now. They seek love outside their marriage and soon realize the spark is still alive between them.
