Also starring Sheeba Chaddha and Shefali Shah, the upcoming Anubhuti Kashyap directorial is said to be a comedy-drama set on a medical campus.
If the pandemic has taught people anything, it's the vital role that doctors play as caretakers of public health. As such, it makes sense that filmmakers would tread carefully while trying to emulate the heroic profession on screen. It seems like the makers of Doctor G too, are trying to present the medical profession as truly as possible, by organising intense prep sessions for its cast and crew.
According to ToI, Doctor G actress Rakul Preet Singh, who plays the role of Dr Fatima, spilled some beans. She revealed what went into prepping for her role as a doctor, saying that the cast had to attend sessions helmed by medical professionals to fully understand the nuances of a hospital environment. She shared how eager director Anubhuti Kashyap is to authentically capture doctors’ lives in the film.

In addition to learning medical terminology, Rakul Preet Singh says she also worked on perfecting the mannerisms and looks of her character. She also talked about how she truly started to realise the huge responsibility and difficulties doctors face while treating patients. Even though she was playing a character, whose look was revealed recently, she felt a certain sense of responsibility to portray them as well as possible.
The film also stars Ayushmann Khurrana, Shefali Shah and Sheeba Chaddha. Khurrana's character look was let out a while ago.
The film is produced by Junglee Pictures.
