Doctor G OTT release date: Where to watch Ayushmann Khurrana, Rakul Preet Singh, Shefali Shah’s film after its theatrical run

Ayushmann Khurrana is gearing up to take the silver screen by storm again, in yet another witty comedy with a social message. Ayushmann will next be seen taking on the role of a male gynaecologist in the medical comedy Doctor G. The film will be released in theatres this Friday, on October 13. But in case you’re not able to catch Ayushmann in all his glory on the big screen, then fret not, as the film’s makers have locked in the OTT platform where Doctor G will start streaming after its theatrical run.

The streaming rights of Doctor G have been bagged by Netflix, and the film will be available to stream on the streaming giant’s platform after its theatrical run. The makers are yet to unveil the OTT release date of the film.

Doctor G follows the story of a medical student who finds himself as the only male student in the gynaecology department of his college, after several unsuccessful attempts to study another field. His journey to become a doctor is anything but smooth, his own preconceived notions about the field adding to the already existing societal taboos of being a male gynaecologist.

Ayushmann stars as the protagonist, medical student Uday Gupta. Rakul Preet Singh essays the role of Fatima Siddiqui, Uday's love interest and a student in his class. In a candid chat with OTTplay, Rakul described her character as a righteous, bold, and sassy modern woman. Shefali Shah portrays the role of Dr. Nandini Srivastav, a senior doctor and Uday’s mentor, who advises him to get rid of his preconceived notions about the profession and to lose his ‘male touch’. Sheeba Chaddha stars as Udya’s mother.

The film marks the directorial debut of Anubhuti Kashyap. Anubhuti has also penned the film’s script along with Sumit Saxena, Saurabh Bharat and Vishal Wagh. Doctor G is produced under the banners of Junglee Pictures.
