Doctor Strange 2 Box Office collection Day 1: Benedict Cumberbatch's movie has a phenomenal start

Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, starring Benedict Cumberbatch in the titular role, is the fourth Hollywood movie to witness massive opening day earnings.

According to trade analyst Taran Adarsh, all language versions of the movie have collectively grossed Rs 27.50 crore in India. Avengers: Infinity War earned Rs 31.30 in 2018, Avengers: Endgame made Rs 53.10 crore and Spider-Man: No Way Home made Rs 32.67 crore.

The box office numbers are close to the earnings prediction. Analyst Ramesh Bala had predicts that the movie would make around Rs 30 crore domestically. 

Directed by Sam Raimi, Benedict Cumberbatch returns as Doctor Strange, and the movie also features Elizabeth Olsen, Chiwetel Ejiofor, Benedict Wong, Michael Stuhlbarg, and Rachel McAdams.

Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness is set after the events of No Way Home and follows Doctor Strange and Wanda Maximoff dive deep into the multiverse accidentally opened by him. The movie also includes a special appearance by Patrick Stewart as Professor X.
