Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness is one of the biggest releases of the year. Fans also have a long list of actors that they predict would appear in the movie in cameo roles, amongst which is Tom Cruise. He is rumoured to play the role of Iron Man. And now, there's some clarification as Benedict Cumberbatch has reacted to the rumours.

Talking to Indian Express, the actor said reportedly keeping a straight face that Tom Cruise is in every scene not seen in the trailer and that it was the biggest kept secret.

Sharing his thoughts about fan theories, Cumberbatch said that he tries to stay away from the internet and react to theories, but has also had some fun interacting with enthusiastic crowds in various gatherings.

“You know, this franchise belongs so much more to them (fans) than it does to us. So, in a way, that is its own thing. But I love the idea that people are so excited to see this film,” he said.

He added that he is very grateful for the support the MCU’s long-form serial storytelling has received and the pre-sales for the movie. The movie received over Rs. 10 crore in pre-sales in India, when the movie was still 10 days away from its release.

While Cumberbatch returns as Doctor Strange, the movie also features Elizabeth Olsen, Chiwetel Ejiofor, Benedict Wong, Michael Stuhlbarg, and Rachel McAdams in important roles.

Patrick Stewart returning to his role as Charles Xavier is another rumoured cameo in the movie, and the actor gave a solid hint at this, attending the Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness premiere.

The movie, which is helmed by Sam Raimi, is set to hit theatres around the world on May 6.
