Sivakarthikeyan’s Don hit theatres last week and the movie has been a great hit with the fans. It seems like superstar Rajinikanth is also a fan of the movie and even called up the actor to wish him.

According to a report by the Times of India, Sivakarthikeyan has revealed that he received a phone call from the superstar after watching Don. “Super, super, fantastic. Very good acting. For the last 30 minutes, I couldn’t control my tears,” is what Rajinikanth said on the phone, according to the leading man. Rajinikanth is known to watch good movies that come out and congratulate its makers and actors.

Sivakarthikeyan’s love and admiration for Rajinikanth is well documented, with the actor having said the same a number of times. He has expressed his love for him even from his early days on TV and it does not seem to have changed even after becoming a star himself.

Don came out on May 13 and became an immediate hit with the fans, who enjoyed the comedy, the emotional drama and also the references to the superstar in the movie.

Don is the directorial debut of Cibi Chakaravarthi, who was an assistant to Atlee in the past. Apart from Sivakarthikeyan, the movie also features Soori, Samuthirakani, Vijay TV fame Sivangi, RJ Vijay, Munishkanth, Bala Saravanan, Kaali Venkat and others in important roles. The movie also stars Priyanka Arul Mohan as the female lead, marking her second collaboration with Sivakarthikeyan, after Nelson’s Doctor.

“All in all, an enjoyable film—Don keeps the audience glued till the end! This Sivakarthikeyan-starrer is definitely worth a trip to the theatres. By the way, keep some tissues by your side! I bet you’d use them during the climax portions,” reads the movie’s review on OTTplay.

The movie, which is set in the background of a college, is now available in theatres around the country.
