Sri Simha Koduri, the actor who made a name for himself with films like Mathu Vadhalara, Tellavarithe Guruvaram, was recently seen in a survival thriller titled Dongalunnaru Jagratha. Helmed by newcomer Satish Tripura, the film was jointly produced by D Suresh Babu and Sunitha Tati under Suresh Productions, Guru Films in collaboration with Manzar Studios. The film, which, had hit theatres on September 23, is now streaming on OTT. Netflix had bagged its post-theatrical digital rights.
Dongalunnaru Jagratha was a film largely made at a single location under a shoestring budget. The film is about a petty thief who comes to steal a car and instead gets locked inside it and realises it's controlled by someone else. He needs to fight for his life and asks for help from various corners - friends, near and dear but there's no hope in sight. What's in store for the thief? Preethi Asrani, who shot to fame with her appearances in films like Malli Raava, Seetimaar before, is cast as the female lead in Dongalunnaru Jagratha. Samuthirakani too plays a key role in the same. Reports had hinted that the makers were initially hoping to release it directly on OTT but had revised its release plan later. Kaala Bhairava, brother to film's lead Sri Simha, had scored the music while Yeshwanth C had cranked the camera.
Garry BH had edited the film with Gandhi Nadikudikar handling art direction. Yuvaraj Karthikeyan, Chhitra Subramaniam, Vamsi Bandaru were its co-producers. Suresh Productions, Guru Films had also teamed up two other popular films - Saakini Daakini and Oh Baby.
