Producer SR Prabhu is quite upbeat about foraying into the Hindi film industry with Bholaa, starring Bollywood star Ajay Devgan . Prabhu is the producer of Kaithi, which has been remade in Hindi as Bholaa. Even though the filmmaker is excited about the new venture, he seems to be aware of the risks of remaking such a popular movie. That's the reason on the day Bholaa opened in cinemas worldwide, Prabhu made a special request to the audience.
Prabhu has pleaded with the movie buffs to watch Bholaa with an open mind and avoid drawing a comparison with Kaithi, which turned Lokesh Kanajaraj from a regional upstart to a pan-India sensation.

"Happy to Venture into Hindi films with #Bholaa .It’s been quite a journey!! Thanks a lot everyone for making this a great experience!! #Kaithi is something difficult to be remade. So we tried completely different! Pls don’t compare. Just enjoy Bholaa as it is!! #BholaaIn3D," wrote Prabhu.
Kaithi follows the adventures of a convicted felon who gets out of jail after serving his time. The evening he gets out of jail, he's drawn into a high-stake road chase. He's tasked with the responsibility of saving the lives of several top police officers of the city as all their lives are under threat by the members of a drug cartel. And the Kaithi, which means prisoner, pulls off some daring stunts to single-handedly protect the city's police force.
Kaithi became of the biggest solo hits in Karthi's career. In Bholaa, Ajay will reprise Karthi's role. However, the filmmakers have bumped up the action part to another level and have also added the element of 3D to give the audience more reason to watch this movie in cinemas. Besides playing the lead role, Ajay has also directed it. The film also stars Tabu, Deepak Dobriyal, Sanjay Mishra and Gajraj Rao.
