Don't Look Up is up there in the list of the most anticipated releases of 2021. Singer-actor Ariana Grande recently let out just how she came to be a part of the star-studded cast of the upcoming Adam McKay movie.

The star recently appeared on an episode of The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, where she opened up about how she had bagged the role in the sci-fi black comedy. Grande revealed that she had been a longtime fan of Mckay’s work and how excited she had been when the director had approached her with the role.

But not one to have things handed to her, Grande insisted that she would audition for her part, as she wanted to earn it. Despite McKay’s insistence that it wasn’t necessary, because the role was a small one, Grande nonetheless went ahead with the audition. She said that after reading her part, she had been delighted with her character.

She also let out a few details about her role, saying that her character was that of an austere pop star named Riley Bina who is in a relationship with a DJ.

Don't Look Up tells the story of two astronomers who discover that Earth is going to be hit by a deadly asteroid. The two set out on a media tour to warn mankind of the impending disaster, bringing the message to important dignitaries.

The film features an ensemble including Leonardo Dicaprio, Jennifer Lawrence, Jonah Hill, Meryl Streep, Cate Blanchett, Mark Rylance, Rob Morgan, Timothée Chalamet, Tyler Perry and Ron Perlman, in addition to Grande.

Don't Look Up will have a limited release in theatres on December 10, 2021, and will be available to stream on Netflix from December 24 onwards.
