Who would have thought that Kannada filmmaker Mansore, whose claim to fame have been highly-feted films like Harivu, Nathicharami, Act 1978 and 19.20.21, would venture out of his comfort zone of doing impactful social dramas and embrace a romantic film as his next? Well, that’s exactly what he’s done and he is ready to bring it to theatres too. Mansore is releasing his take on a love story, which he says is very personal, Doora Theera Yaana, on July 11, 2025. The film stars Vijay Krishna and Priyanka Kumar in the lead.
Ahead of the film’s theatrical outing, its title track was released, a song that captures the emotions of the protagonists – full-time techies and hobby musicians - and their journey of love. Doora Theera Yaana’s composer credits are shared by Ronada Bakkesh and Karthik Chennoji Rao, with the former also serving as lead vocalist on the song, along with Eesha Suchi.
The film is Vijay’s debut as a leading man and the actor got all emotional at the song launch on June 10, speaking at length about the energy and passion everyone on the set of the film had during its making. The actor was also thankful to Bakkesh for his “fantastic” rendition of the song. On his part, Bakkesh added that he and Karthik had worked on 2-3 versions of the song, but that Mansore was not convinced that it worked for what he had in mind.
The final version that is out now is a result of a lot of discussion, with the filmmaker particular about how he wanted it to sound. Bakkesh said that Mansore ought to be credited for the film’s music just as much as the composers. He added that the film has 8 songs in total, which took about a year to compose.
