50 days after its theatrical run, Double XL has gotten its digital premiere on Netflix. The film, which stars Sonakshi Sinha and Huma Qureshi in the lead roles, is currently streaming on the leading OTT platform. The supporting actors in Satramm Ramani's comedy are Zaheer Iqbal and Mahat Raghavendra.

Two plus-sized women, one from rural Uttar Pradesh and the other from urban New Delhi, are the central characters of Double XL. As they deal with life, make friends with other women, and learn to love their bodies, they dispel the idea that size and beauty are linked.

Earlier, while talking about Double XL, Huma had told OTTplay that the only reason she did this movie was that every girl who has heard this can relate to it. Any girl should be able to relate to her persona, no matter what size she is or thinks she is. Therefore, Double XL is for everyone who is an outcast or has been informed that they are an outcast.

While Sonakshi said that making Double XL was cathartic, the two of them really invested in this movie. Considering that they were vulnerable to body shaming even before the start of their careers, they were larger than the other kids. Occasionally, when one is growing up, they don't have the kind of role models that can tell you, "It's okay, it's fine, and things will get better; keep doing what you're doing, and everything will fall into place." So, it was important that they be good examples for the people who watch this movie.

Everybody needs that comfort as they grow up, and Sonakshi feels it is crucial to instil in people the idea that appearances are not everything, regardless of how overweight or thin one is, how tall or short one is, or how fair or dark one is. The only thing that really matters in life is you, your abilities, goals, and dreams. What could be greater than that? Nothing, not even you, is bigger than that.
