Sonakshi Sinha and Huma Qureshi have teamed up for a film titled Double XL. The actors announced the wrap of the film, based on the subject of fat-shaming. In the video released by T-Series, both the actors give a voiceover of how they have been trolled and shamed for their weight since they began their careers. They are even heard talking about the trolling comments they receive on every promo or video they share.
The video starts with Huma asking Sonakshi how she can lose the weight she and Sonakshi have gained for the film Double XL. To which the Dabangg actor responds, "Just like we did when we first became heroines."
Huma then asks, "Have you forgotten when people used to say, 'Huma Qureshi is too heavy to be a leading lady?'" While Sonakshi retorts, "And have you forgotten how people used to call you Motakshi in the comments section of your every promo and video?"
"Are we fat-shaming each other?" Sonakshi asks Huma again. "Why not? People consider fat-shaming a matter of pride in our country," the latter responds. "But why?" Sonakshi asks again. "Because those who fat-shame us, our sisters, friends, or mothers, are also obese. Don't they have the right to wish? They do have a right, partner," Huma responds.
Thus, they must tell the story of this film. In their film Double XL, Huma and Sonakshi promote body positivity. A woman is far more beautiful and complex than a number on a scale can capture. That's the message conveyed by Huma and Sonakshi in their Double XL film wrap teaser. The film discusses body positivity and women supporting one another.
Mudassar Aziz wrote the script, and Satramm Ramani directed the film, which is a social comedy. T-Series, Wakaoo Films, and Elemen3 Entertainment are producing. Elemen3.com was founded by Huma Qureshi, Saqib Saleem, and Mudassar Aziz. This is their first home production.
