Dragon box office collection day 14: Three-film-old Pradeep Ranganathan to dethrone Ajith Kumar’s Vidaamuyarchi in worldwide earnings in no time

Dragon, the 2025 Tamil film starring actor-filmmaker Pradeep Ranganathan in the lead role, has successfully run for two weeks straight at the box office, as it is on the path to become the highest-grossing Tamil film so far this year. The film, directed by Ashwath Marimuthu, has collected over Rs 123 crore at the box office worldwide.

After delivering success with Love Today, which came as a dark horse of the season, Pradeep Ranganathan has further solidified his position in the industry by giving a blockbuster film Dragon. In his sophomore acting outing, Dragon is written and directed by Ashwath Marimuthu. It has been two weeks since the release of the film, and it has already crossed Rs 100 crore. The worldwide collection of Dragon now stands at about Rs 123 crore, while the domestic India collection is at Rs 80 crore. In fact, Dragon has dethroned Pradeep’s Love Today as well. Dragon released in theatres on February 21, and is produced by AGS Entertainment.

So far, Dragon is the second highest-grossing film in Tamil so far this year. It is just a few crores away from beating Ajith Kumar’s Vidaamuyarchi, which is at the first place.

Dragon OTT release:

The post-theatrical streaming rights of Dragon have been bagged by Netflix, with an official streaming date yet to be announced. Pradeep Ranganathan and Ashwath Marimuthu are long-time friends, who collaborated in Dragon for the first time. The film released in Telugu as Return of the Dragon.

The drama film revolves around a college student with 48 arrears, now leading a good life with a high salary and about to get married. However, a particular circumstance forces him to return to college to clear the backlogs. The catch is, however, he has to do it without the knowledge of his lover, boss, and family members. It also stars Anupama Parameswaran, Kayadu Lohar, Myskin, Gautham Menon, George Mariyan, VJ Siddhu, Harshath Khan and others.
