Dragon box office collection day 3 report: Pradeep Ranganathan is here to stay; to beat Ajith Kumar’s Vidaamuyarchi 17-day earnings soon

Pradeep Ranganathan-starrer Dragon which released in theatres recently, has already collected Rs 50 crore at the box office worldwide, making it the fastest Tamil film of 2025 so far to make it half of 100-crore club. With the given pace expected to continue, Dragon can also beat Ajith Kumar-starrer Vidaamuyarchi soon in matter of days.

Dragon box office collection day 3 report is here

Dragon starring actor-filmmaker Pradeep Ranganathan in the lead role, has successfully crossed the first weekend collection and has made wonders at the box office. By the end of first weekend, the film has collected Rs 50.22 crores worldwide (gross), the producer of the film Archana Kalpathi announced on social media. The film has collected Rs 24.9 crore in Tamil Nadu, and Rs 6.25 in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana. While it made Rs 4.37 crore in other states, the overseas collection is RS 14.7 crore.

Dragon has become the first Tamil film in 2025 so far to become financially successful. At this rate, the film will also beat Ajith Kumar’s Vidaamuyarchi whose 17-day collection still stands at a meagre Rs 80 crore.

Written and directed by Ashwath Marimuthu, the film also features KS Ravi Kumar, Gautham Vasudev Menon, Mysskin, Vj Siddhu, Harshath Khan, Anupama Parameshwaran, Kayadu Lohar, George Mariyan, Indhumathy Manigandan, Thenappan and others.

It revolves around a studious school boy who turns into a wastrel after entering college. With 48 arrears, he gets into a high-paying job through malpractices. However, there comes a time when he has to go back to college to complete his backlogs if he doesn’t want his perfectly build world not to crumble.

You can stream Dragon on Netflix after its theatrical run. The film has music by Leon James, and a surprise cameo in the post-credit scene.
