Dragon, the blockbuster Tamil film starring actor and filmmaker Pradeep Ranganathan in the lead role, has made wonders at the box office and became the highest-grossing Tamil film so far in 2025. The film is now gearing up for its OTT release, Netflix has bagged the post-theatrical streaming rights of the film, with a premiere date set.

We had earlier reported that actor-filmmaker Pradeep Ranganathan’s 2025 Tamil film Dragon’s post-theatrical streaming rights have been bagged by Netflix. The streaming giant has announced the release date on the OTT. Dragon will premiere on March 21 on Netflix. It will be available in Tamil, Hindi, Telugu, Kannada and Malayalam with English subtitles.

Dragon is written and directed by Ashwath Marimuthu, who earlier made his directorial debut with the romantic comedy Oh My Kadavule. Dragon revolves around D Ragavan, who from being a studious boy turns into a brat after he enters college. However, with 48 arrears and after his girlfriend breaks up with him, he uses non-legal means to get into a high-paying job, only for his college headmaster to threaten to expose him if he does not clear his backlogs.

Dragon becomes highest-grossing Tamil film so far in 2025

The film stars Kayadu Lohar, Anupama Parameswaran, Myskin, Gautham Menon, VJ Sidhu, Harshath Khan and others. Dragon made a smashing debut at the box office and soon went on to become the highest-grossing Tamil film so far this year, even beating Ajith Kumar’s Vidaamuyarchi. A mix of family drama, romance, and coming-of-age story, Dragon was received well for its writing and performances. Dragon is backed by AGS Entertainment, with Leon James scoring the music.
