Draupathi 2, the 2026 Tamil historical drama film which hit theatres on Friday, is directed by filmmaker Mohan G. The film which explores the dynasty of Hoysala rulers, has made only Rs 20 lakh on first day at the box office.

Draupathi 2 is a recently release Tamil film which is currently running in theatres. The film is written and directed by Mohan G and is a historical period drama. It stars Richard Rishi in the lead role. Draupathi 2 could secure only a few screens given majority of big screens were reserved for Mankatha re-release.
As per Sacnilk, Draupathi 2 has made only Rs 20 lakhs on day 1. The film, which had also opened to negative reviews, must struggle to capitalise the weekend, especially with the re-release of Mankatha taking the centre stage and being fans’ pick for the week. According to Galatta’s 2020 report, Draupathi had made around Rs 2.5 crore in Tamil Nadu on day one, making its sequel earn only 8%.
