On August 25, 2023, Dream Girl 2 starring Ayushmann Khurrana was theatrically released, and it immediately generated favorable buzz. Ayushmann's career-best opening for Dream Girl 2 was above Rs 10.60 crore on day 1. However, on Monday, the movie's box office earnings significantly decreased, and although trade analysts had predicted, Dream Girl 2 failed to surpass the Rs 50 crore threshold in India on day four.
As per reports, Dream Girl 2 only made a meager Rs 4.70 crore, bringing its total take to Rs 45 crore. Given that the movie made between Rs 15 and Rs 16 crore on Sunday, the Monday box office results clearly showed a significant decline. If the film wants to reach the 100 crore mark, it will need to speed up throughout the weekend before it gets washed away by Shah Rukh Khan's 'Jawan', which opens in theaters the following week.

Ayushmann Khurrana talks about his late father
As his film croseed the 40 crore mark at the box office, Ayushmann Khurrana revealed how much he misses his late father. He recalled how delighted his father was of his part in the film "Dream Girl" and how much he loved it. "He laughed his heart out while watching the film, and even predicted that it would be a roaring success. I wish he could have watched 'Dream Girl 2' as well," he said. "His laughter was infectious and he was my greatest supporter. I owe so much of who I am today to his unwavering faith in me," he further added.
