Dream Scenario OTT release date – Nicolas Cage’s black comedy drama to begin streaming on this platform

Dream Scenario, starring Nicholas Cage, is the third directorial credit of Kristoffer Borgli, who has also written the screenplay. The stakes seem to be only getting higher for the upcoming bigshot director, especially since this black comedy drama was produced by renowned filmmaker Ari Aster of Hereditary and Midsommar fame.

Release date and trailer of Dream Scenario

The film premiered at the Toronto International Film Festival in September 2023 before enjoying a theatrical release on November 10. Dream Scenario hit Indian theatres on January 5, 2024. Now the film is geared up for its OTT debut. The film will be streaming on Max on March 15. Indian viewers can stream the film on Jio Cinema with a premium subscription. The film had dropped its trailer way back on September 19, 2023.

Plot of Dream Scenario

Dream Scenario has a simple premise that darkens and complicates with time. Nicholas Cage plays a biology professor here, Paul Matthews. Leading an ordinary, simple life, Paul suddenly begins to gain an unreal amount of attention and fame when he suddenly begins appearing in the dreams of random strangers.

As the number of people who have seen him increase and they recognize him, we see multiple subtle narratives. From highlighting the pros and cons of fame to its weatherly, inconsistent disposition, Dream Scenario plays the game by its ear and masterfully so. The trailer reveals how the film manages to transgress the limitations imposed by dreams and reality.

Now, people can blame Paul for all that happens in their dreams, despite him having no say over it. Though most began dreaming of him as an emotionless, passive part of their sleepy sojourns, as the dreams grow more complicated and violent, Paul finds himself struggling to keep adrift amid the sea of ever-changing admiration and hate.

Cast of Dream Scenario

Other than Cage, the film features the talented Julianne Nicholson as his wife Janet, Jessica Clement as daughter Hannah, Lily Bird as daughter Sophie, Tim Meadows as College Dean Brett, Michael Cera as Trent, and Dylan Gelula as Trent’s assistant Mary. The film also stars the promising likes of Noah Centineo, Nicholas Braun, Ambey Midthunder, Lily Gao, Cara Volchoff, and David Klein in prominent roles.
