Just like Jeethu Joseph and Mohanlal’s Drishyam spawned several remakes after it released in 2013, the sequel of the Malayalam film, which dropped on Amazon Prime Video this February, has once again propelled the same trend. After the Telugu remake had gone on floors, the next to start filming is the Kannada version titled Drishya 2.

Most of the cast from the Kannada remake Drishya, will be returning in its sequel too. The movie is helmed by P Vasu, who had also directed the 2014 movie, and went on floors today after a pooja function. The film has Ravichandran, Navya Nair, Prabhu and Asha Sharath reprising their roles.

Anant Nag and Pramod Shetty are the new additions in the cast. They could be playing the role of the cunning cop, essayed by Murali Gopy in the Malayalam movie, and also the convict who witnesses Rajendra Ponnappa (Ravichandran’s character in Drishya) burying the body in the police station.

Meanwhile, Jeethu has already completed shooting the Telugu remake Drushyam 2, which has Venkatesh in the lead. In an earlier interview with us, the filmmaker said that he didn't make any changes to the script of the Telugu remake as it would hinder the flow of the movie.

The Tamil remake of Drishyam 2, which has Kamal Haasan in the lead, and the Hindi version, which has Ajay Devgn playing the protagonist, have also been greenlit. The movies will begin shooting after the actors are done with their current commitments. Jeethu, meanwhile, had also hinted that he is interested in making another sequel to the hit movie.
