Drishyam 2 marks the second instalment in the thrilling Drishyam saga. Earlier, Akshaye Khanna was announced to be the new addition to the franchise’s cast and will essay the role of a police officer. The actor was recently given a warm welcome to the franchise by his co-star Tabu.
Tabu took to her official Instagram handle to welcome Khanna, sharing a photograph of the two of them. The photograph featured Khanna with a blurred Tabu in the background. The actress captioned the picture “ Delighted to have a gem of an actor on board for #Drishyam2

In addition to Khanna and Tabu, the upcoming film also stars Ajay Devgn, Shriya Saran and Ishita Dutta in pivotal roles, who will be reprising their roles from the first film. Drishyam 2 will mark Khanna and Devgn’s first major onscreen collaboration after almost 12 years. The duo had shared the screen in the 2002 film Deewangee, which can be streamed on Voot and Amazon Prime Video.
Drishyam 2 had started shooting back in February this year, and Devgn had shared a photo from sets to mark the occasion. The upcoming film is a sequel to the 2015 film, directed by Nishikant Kamat, as well as the Hindi remake of the 2021 Malayalam film of the same name.
The Malayalam film was written and directed by Jeethu Joseph and starred Mohanlal, Meena, Ansiba Hassan and Esther Anil in pivotal roles. The film had a direct to OTT release on Amazon Prime Video. The films were also remade in Telugu as Drushyam(2014) and Drushyam 2(2021), starring Venkatesh in the lead.
