Drishyam 3 release update: Jeethu Joseph to wrap up Mohanlal film soon, eyes summer 2026 release?

Malayalam filmmaker Jeethu Joseph is busy with Drishyam 3, starring Mohanlal in the lead. Online trackers have said that the highly anticipated movie could wrap up its filming soon, as early as December 4, 2025. If everything goes according to schedule, we can expect to see Drishyam 3 in cinemas in the summer of 2026, it is being reported.

Drishyam 3 set for summer 2026 release?

Drishyam is the third installment in Jeethu Joseph-Mohanlal’s Drishyam film franchise, which revolves around a common man Georgekutty’s fight to protect his family from the law after a crime committed at his home. Jeethu Joseph commenced the shoot for Drishyam 3 on September 25, 2025. 

The shooting has been taking place at a brisk pace in Thodupuzha with schedules in Vagamon and Ernakulam. Online trackers are claiming that the shoot would be wrapped in the first week of December. This would give the Antony Perumbavoor-backed film roughly three months in post-production before a summer release next year. However, the Drishyam 3 team has not given any official update regarding the shoot schedule or release.

Apart from Mohanlal, the original cast of Drishyam returns for third installment with Meena, Ansiba Hassan, and Esther Anil playing the roles of Georgekutty’s wife and two daughters.

Drishyam 3 Hindi schedule

Drishyam 1 and 2 are hugely popular Malayalam thrillers, which have been remade in several other languages including Hindi. Bollywood star Ajay Devgn leads Drishyam 3 in Hindi, which is also expected to go on floors soon. There has been contradicting reports about the release of the Hindi and Malayalam versions. Though some reports claim that both films would hit theatres together, Jeethu Joseph had earlier insisted that the Malayalam film would be released first as that is the original movie. Abhishek Pathak directs the Hindi Drishyam 3.

On the other hand, Mohanlal has already had three theatrical releases this year - L2 Empuraan, Thudarum and Hridayapoorvam - all three of which were box office successes.
