Mohanlal’s big budget action-thriller Ram, which had gone on floors in 2019, is now set for its final lap of filming. The team had already shot in the UK, Morocco as well as Tunisia and are now gearing up to head back to Tunisia again for one more schedule, as per reports.

Mohanlal along with the film’s cast and crew will leave to the African country by April second week to complete the schedule. Incidentally, the team also had to stop their UK schedule midway due to the death of Queen Elizabeth and will be returning to London to complete those portions later.

In an earlier interview with OTTplay, Jeethu said, “The Queen had died just four days before we were set to shoot the film. Once she passed away, a lot of our locations were cancelled for the wake. In India, once the location is cancelled, we can get it scheduled for the next day. But in the UK, you will have to apply for permission again and wait during the processing time. So, we will have to fly back to the UK to shoot the portions we couldn’t.”

Ram, which also has Indrajith Sukumaran, Trisha, Adil Hussain, Samyuktha Menon and G Chandunath, is planned as a duology and the first instalment is currently scheduled to hit theatres during Onam 2023. The film will clash with Dulquer Salmaan’s big-budget period gangster film King of Kotha in theatres.

Jeethu had told us that he had initially planned to release the movie as a single film, but found it increasingly difficult as Mohanlal’s character is “someone who could be described as pan-world”. The filmmaker also said that post-pandemic, Mohanlal’s market had expanded with Drishyam 2 and this made it possible to also conceive the film as a duology, keeping in mind a pan-Indian release.
